Nu siaip mintis forume isreiksta uzstrigo... If you wanted to compare apples to apples, the 2ZZ is a FAR superior engine and could make more power than a 3S-GTE with less money invested. For say a 450 whp setup, both engines would require pistons, rods, a turbo kit with appropriately sized turbo and some type of ECU. Then for your 3S build, add in intake manifold, headwork and a number of other things. Most of the stock parts from say a stock MR2 are worthless and need to be upgraded. If you follow MR2 builds at all, you'll find that all the high hp cars have 100% custom kits because they've had to reengineer so many parts. Beyond that, the cost of most of the parts is way higher than Celica parts. The ONLY advantage of this setup would be AWD and only if the car were totally streetble. A tube frame race car with a sheet metal floor and no interior is worthless to own if you intend on using the car for basic transportation. |

Our stainless turbo manifold is professionally TIG welded for maximum strength for a long service life. GT (1ZZ): Straight out of the box you can run the system at 8-10psi to generate 245-270 hp at the wheels. That is enough to run 13-second quarter mile times and easily outrun a 350Z. ![]() Want more? Upgrade those spindly rods and cast pistons with some Crower and Wiseco pieces and add a MWR fuel pump and you can turn the boost up to 13-15psi Still not enough? Add a fuel pressure regulator for even more performance- this allows you to run 17psi or even higher and generate 330-380+ hp to the wheels. At this point your engine is producing over 400hp, enough for 11-second 1/4 mile times. ![]() The results above were all achieved with the GT28RS turbocharger, which usually makes full boost on a stock 1ZZ just above 3000rpm on the street. 2ZZ: The 2ZZ loves boost. Its high stock compression ratio limits us to 7-8psi but that is still enough to put 260-280hp to the front wheels. Simply upgrade your pistons and you can push any of the three turbos to its limits which means you're near 400whp on the big GT2871R. Believe me, your car is moving with that kind of propulsion. Turbo Selection: If you plan to keep your engine stock and want maximum response then pick the GT28R turbo which is good for a maximum of 320whp on a built engine. For a great street setup and up to 350whp the GT28RS is your best option. Still not enough? Choose the GT2871R turbo for up to 385whp and spoolup that is still quite streetable.
